Can I buy a lot at Elk Ridge now?
Not yet. The disclosure statement for Phase 1 is in preparation, and no lots or homes are offered for sale, and no deposits are accepted, until it is filed under BC's Real Estate Development Marketing Act. Register your interest and you'll hear first.
Is registering a commitment?
No. Registering is free and non-binding. It isn't a reservation, a purchase or a deposit.
Where is Elk Ridge?
In historic Paldi, in the Cowichan Valley on southern Vancouver Island, between Duncan and the Town of Lake Cowichan. See The Land & Valley.
How big are the lots, and can I build a suite?
Phase 1 lots range from about 7,500 to 19,800 sq ft. Most allow a total build area of up to about half the lot area, and secondary suites are permitted, subject to zoning, setbacks and permits.
What kind of homes will there be?
Healthy, energy-conscious homes designed by Worthy and built off-site, with a choice of designs, colours and options. Explore them on the lot map. We will also offer custom homes by Elk Ridge Chosen Partners in specific areas.
When could I build or move in?
Phase 1 is in the final stages of being build-ready. Our construction-readiness target for water, sewer, roads and services is early 2027. Exact timing will be set out when the disclosure statement is filed.
What makes it a wellness community?
Living well is planned into daily life: forest trails and parks, the Permaculture Zen Park, a community sauna and lounge, food forests and gardens, and the Future Wellness Resort planned for Phase 2. Taking part is always optional.
Where does the water come from?
Elk Ridge holds Provincial Water Licence 505532, issued by the Province of BC on March 15, 2024. Water and sewer are part of the Phase 1 design. Wastewater is treated on site with a membrane-technology system that produces clean, Class B effluent: environmentally friendly and built to Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) standards.
